Every effort has been made to make your stay relaxing and replenishing. We found a superb location and totally refurbished the cottage and fitted it out to a very high standard to give you a comfortable and memorable holiday. We have lived in the cottage ourselves for 2 years to ‘get it right’ and now spend a few months each year there. This also means that it is better equipped than most holiday cottages; it is our ‘home from home’ too!
Let’s take each room in turn:
Our new lounge has two sides of glass, so you get a great panoramic view from it to look out to land and sea. It faces west, so you can watch the sun go down and the sunset develop in comfort. You can see the Northern Lights at times in the winter too.
Relax on the chaise, or on one of the reclining leather settees, warmed by the underfloor heating and wood burning stove. Enjoy a game, read a book, plan the next day or simply kick back and relax, watching the big sky, sea and weather.
The original, traditional lounge is now a TV room. It has a big 42″ screen and soundbar, satellite TV with catch-up / on demand TV, DVD player and film selection. Again, soft seating and a wood burner make it a room to cosy up in.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable king-sized bed with Egyptian cotton bedding, luxury duvet and pillows, hair dryer, welcome toiletries, fluffy towels and soft robes – and a ‘Scottie’ dog theme.
The other bedroom has comfortable twin beds, with Egyptian cotton bedding, luxury duvet and pillows, hair dryer, welcome toiletries, fluffy towels and soft robes – and a sheep theme.
Both bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms. These are modern and fully equipped, with WC, digital power shower and basin, mirror and shaver point. The master en-suite has a bath and an infra-red sauna for two, both with a view.
The kitchen and utility are very well equipped and include dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, large fridge / freezer as well as hob, oven, microwave, crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils, washing machine, large Belfast sink, iron and ironing board. Some consumables including coffee, tea, sugar, oils, sauces, herbs and spices, foil etc., dishwasher and washing machine tablets are all provided for your use.
The utility has a washing machine, iron and board, large Belfast sink and downstairs WC.
In the cottage there are board games, books and maps. Fibre broadband internet via WiFi is available around the cottage and devices can be charged by using the USB sockets in the bedrooms; just bring your cable.
Outside, there is a picnic table for four, a bench and mature garden.
